Volunteer Opportunities
The Banner House Museum would not exist without volunteers!
Volunteers raised the funds and purchased the Banner house, then renovated it, turning it into a museum with donated and loaned period items from our area. Volunteers decorated the rooms, landscaped the yard, and trained to be docents to guide visitors through our history with tours and demonstrations.
Volunteer Opportunities
Docents
Docent training is provided periodically for anyone interested in leading museum tours. Docents should be comfortable speaking to tour groups and committed to learning more about this area’s history and families. Community outreach events provide additional opportunities for docents to share their knowledge. Minimum 4 hours per week time commitment required
Gardeners
Do you have a green thumb and some spare time? We always need help weeding, watering and maintaining the grounds of the museum. This can be done during museum hours or at your leisure. We even keep a jar of the “treasures” we find in the garden!
Demonstrators
Help us bring history to life and showcase the heritage arts by sharing your talents.
Internships
Please contact us to learn about internships, or ask about our organization at your school’s career center.
Other Volunteers
Interested in sharing your skills in another way? Let’s talk!
